I didn't take any pictures at the agency BBQ because I was playing it cool. 😂 I did, however, take a few snaps at the second, swankier party. I don't have a great picture of myself or my outfit - you know, the one I spent all day at the mall trying to find. This snap from the elevator will have to do.
I fell in love with pants I wore. I think they were more flattering in person, but maybe I was living in a fantasy world. I thought they were fun. There's a solid chance I wear them to work on a semi-regular basis when I return to the States.
I likely was over-thinking this quite a bit, but again, I wanted to fit in and to me fitting in meant showing up in something that wasn't a basic black outfit. When I was in college someone told me once that you can tell who the freshmen women are on a night out because they will wear almost all black because it's safe and feels sophisticated. I remembered often wearing a black tank top with jeans and black boots to go out in my college days. For this party I didn't want to look like a freshman; although, as I write this I realize I still ended up wearing a black top. BAHAHAHAH! I guess we can't always escape our safety net. Something I liked about this tank is that it's cropped in the front and longer in the back. Plus, it had a zipper in the front so it can either be more of a v-neck or a high neck.
I curled my hair, but it was so humid that it didn't last very long. You can see in the above picture that by the time I made it to elevator at the hotel my hair was quite a bit flatter than in the picture below, taken when I was about to leave my Airbnb.
