I'm realizing that even if I'm good about posting, I will always be behind if I don't post some pictures of what I did and saw in the first few days of being in Hong Kong. So, in order to catch up and try to be a bit more "real time" here are some pictures that document my first few days here.

My first breakfast in Hong Kong. I kept it simple and combined western food with a bit of Asian fare. |

This is not the best picture, but you can tell that any hope of straight hair is total folly for me in HK. At the same time, it's also so humid that my hair is weighed down so I get this awesome combination of curly, frizzy, yet limp. I'm trying to be good about not complaining about it too much, but I really wish my hair was longer so I could just put it up in a bun every day. Here Jason and I were in a MTR station. |

This is a view of Hong Kong island from Kowloon, a part of the city of Hong Kong that is north of Hong Kong island. The tallest building on the right is actually called the IFC (International Finance Center) and I can see it out of my dorm room window. |
 |
While walking around the harbor in Kowloon we saw people practicing tai chi. It's actually really common to see people doing tai chi in public places on their lunch hour or break time. |
The woman in the pink on the right side was definitely the best.

This is the plaque from the Kowloon-Canton Railway clock tower. |

Fun FIFA statues in the harbor area. |

Here I am posing near a building that Jason liked (he's an architecture student) in Kowloon prior to going to Macau. You can't see it, but I'm sweating my ass off already. |
 |
Jason on the ferry to Macau. We took a TurboJet, which is a whole line of ferries that are like speedboats that fly across the water between Macau and Hong Kong. It took about 45 minutes to get to Macau. |
 |
The ferry was not like I expected. On the TurboJet you actually buy tickets for specific seats and the experience is very similar to being on a plane. |
